2019 Agreement: ASUU Issues Fresh Threat

Barely few days after the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, suspended their strike, the union has issued a fresh threat following the federal government failure to disburse the N25bn agreed upon.

The warning was issued by the National President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi on Monday, February 11, 2019.

Taking to the body’s official handle, Biodun warned that if the Federal Government fail to disburse the N25bn agreed upon for revitalization of public universities, the “struggle continues.”

JAMB Says It is Fully Prepared for 2019 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Monday, February 11, 2019, said that it is fully prepared for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The board made the announcement in its weekly bulletin of the Office of the Registrar in Abuja.

The board also noted that the preparation was concluded following its consideration of all items on the checklist for the forthcoming examination.

NYSC Speaks On Death of Corps Member During Shi’ites Protest

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has debunked reports that a serving corps member, Mustapha Ingawa, was killed during a protest by members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) (also known as Shi’ites) over the continued detention of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky.

The NYSC made this known in a statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations of the Scheme, Mrs Adenike Aderemi on Sunday, February 10, 2019.

The statement was in reaction to the reports on the social media that corps members protested the extra-judicial killing of Ingawa, during a Shi’ite demonstration in Abuja.
